Craving a sleek, shimmering finish? We’ve got you covered.
Whether you're elevating an accent wall, giving new life to a favorite piece of furniture or enhancing a craft project, our smooth, transparent shimmering glaze delivers just the right amount of sparkle. It catches the light beautifully, adding dimension and elegance to any space or project.
Why go for a shimmering finish?
A shimmering glaze isn't just about sparkle—it's about creating atmosphere. The subtle to bright light-play can shift the mood of a room, adding warmth, luxury, or even a bit of whimsy depending on how you style it. It’s the perfect upgrade if you want something more expressive than a flat paint job, but still tasteful and timeless.
Where to use it?
The beauty of a shimmering glaze is its versatility. Here are a few of our favorite ways to use it:
Accent Walls: Give your feature wall that wow-factor with a veil of shimmer. It’s a statement-maker that still plays nice with the rest of your décor. Great for homes, boutiques, salons, stores, cafes and more.
Furniture Makeovers: Breathe new life into old dressers, plant stands, or shelves. A coat of shimmer turns the ordinary into eye-catching.
Doors & Trim: Doors are often overlooked when it comes to design—but they’re actually one of the easiest ways to make a bold statement. Whether it's your front door, a bedroom door, or a closet, adding a shimmering top coat transforms it into a feature piece that catches the light and attention.
Nurseries or Playrooms: Add a soft, magical glow to a child’s space—it’s charming, playful, and safe.
Craft & Hobby Artists: Use for DIY décor, art projects, canvases and more.
How do you achieve a flawless look?
The key to a beautiful shimmering finish lies in prep and technique:
Start with a Base: Your base color should be fully dry and clean from any dust and debris. The shimmer is transparent, so imperfections underneath will show through.
Choose the Right Tools: Use a high-quality new nap roller for an even, streak-free application. Avoid using an old nap or foam roller as it can cause the roller to smudge the glaze causing clumping and uneven application.
Apply Evenly: Mix the glaze thoroughly. Pour glaze into tray. Make sure to coat the roller evenly and to roll the excess off on the tray bumps as it helps ensure even coverage on the roller. Avoid saturating roller. Work in small sections, blending as you go to avoid lap lines. Can apply using the "M" and "W" technique to ensure full even coverage. Gentle pressure, as too much pressure can result in clumping and uneven application. Apply as many times as desired, 1-2 coats for a subtle shimmer, 3-4 coats for a heavier shimmer.
Let It Shine: Allow the finish to fully cure before adding any décor or furniture back to the space. As it dries, you’ll really start to see the sparkle come to life.
A shimmering glaze is more than just a design choice—it’s a way to reflect your personality, elevate your space, and add a hint of magic to the everyday. Whether you lean bold and glamorous or subtle and sophisticated, there’s a way to make shimmer work for your style.
